Line Scan Vision Systems

 

DAC has taken advantage of the versatility of line scan cameras in several products as well as a majority of custom vision applications.

Line scan systems have several distinct advantages over traditional area scan systems.

  • Pixel Optimization:  the system is not bound to a fixed pixel X & Y.  Optimize image acquisition to the smallest dimension and scan the length of the product.
  • High Resolution Images:  Line scan cameras are now offered with 8K and more pixels
  • Lower Relative Cost:  For applications requiring 4k pixels per line the cost per pixel can sometimes be 1 to 4 times less than a comparable area scan application

DAC offers several products that utilize the unique features of a line scan system including:

  • RoadRunner X4:  In line AOI system for the PCB industry 
  • RoadRunner X-Plus:  Off line AOI system with high resolution defect inspection area scan camera
  • VIS 400:  Off line bench top inspection system for part inspection and measurement

Custom Line Scan Integration

Custom solutions utilizing line scan include:

  • Multiple Cameras in Series

    • 3 total 4K cameras (12K pixels per line)

    • .00075" pixel size

    • Single Pass Image Acquisition

  • Rotary Image Acquisition

    • Acquire image of a cylinder

    • Rotary Stage with Vertical Stage
